Re: Order Coloring on DS Planning Board

NH,

Good that you are able to reflect colors for the operations. When creating a decision step for a Resource chart, you have the option to choose the object you want to compare i.e. the object can be from a resource, product, order or operation. Each of these options provide various objects to compare from field selection. I suggested to use Product and the field AT104 / AT105, but you are free to explore and choose the best fit.

To answer your questions,

1. If you want different colors to show up for different conditions, you should use different decision groups. This is just playing with If, Else statements to perform desired sequence of checks.

EX:

Decision

Group

DecisionIFThen
105AT104(Product)Equal To'GREEN'Obj ZOPR_I_1
1010AT104(Product)Not Equal ToGREEN'Decision Group 11
115AT104(Product)Equal To'RED'Obj ZOPR_PC_1
1110AT104(Product)Not Equal To'RED'Decision Group 12

2. If you have saved it once and assign a transport request, if you make further changes without backing out, it usually does not prompt you to save. In customizing the Planning Board Profile, you can always goto Table View -> Transport to add your changes to a transport.

3. I am not sure i can answer this but by using decision group - decision steps and assigning a unique graphical object, you can assign different colors to different products.

AK

APO Subcontracting Supplier

Hi,

We want to use APO to do subcontracting but is this possible if we ship our final product from our subcontractor?

We ship direct without using DC or anything else. We don't want the final product to come back to the plant.

Let me know if this is possible with standard functionalities.

Creation of MPOS

Could you please help me when can I select relevant for DP BOM option in creating the MPOS ?

Re: Creation of MPOS

Hi Alexander,

If you select the Relevant for DP BOM check box. This automatically brings the standard characteristics that are used in DP BOM - BOM Char. Comb. ID, BOM Prod. Type (I/O), APO Product, and APO PPM/PDS Name to your MPOS.

This could be used to create CVC based on your PPM/PPDS by exploding it -

Please have a look at below document which highlights how it can be configured and used -

APO - DP BOM Process

Hope it helps.

Dear Mallampalli

Thanks.  We are deciding to change the supersession chains into FFF.  Is there any report available for cancellation of the chains in MASS and upload FFF chains.

Hi AK,

I got hold of one post on SCN by Marius Talos, will try to share the link maybe during my next replay. Marius had published a link which explained the details on the related above configurations.

Currently i am working on it, shall try to publish the results soon. I believe this will work and suit our requirement.

Thanks & regards,

Product allocation

Hi Gurus,

We have a Sales order for which GATP is getting triggered. When we try to save the sales order it takes us to the APO availability check:delivery proposal(sales order) screen which we are not able to edit. When we check the product allocation tab,the confirmed quantity is zero. The confirmed quantity in the SO screen is also zero. Is it something to do with the product allocation for the product/location? I'm relatively new to APO, so kindly

bare if these are basics.. 4.jpg5.jpg6.jpg7.jpg3.jpg4.jpg

Hi Sir,

There is no standard report to delete Interchangeability groups or chains in mass in production system.

You can use below Z report to delete groups in test systems.

Report ZINCMD_DELETE_ALL_GROUPS, using the note 1626688.

But In standard process , you have to archive all groups and then delete them, for this you can refer the below help link.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_em70/helpdata/en/43/c3a9dbd157332ee10000000a11466f/content.htm?frameset=/en/43/c3a9dbd157332ee10000000a11466f/frameset.htm&current_toc=/en/44/2ddd2013363f0ae10000000a114a6b/plain.htm&node_id=4&show_children=true#jump4

You have to use archiving object  CA_INCMD for achiving and deleting Interchangeability groups.

Sandeep,

Your Product Allocation check subscreen suggests that there is inadequate Product allocation available to confirm the order.

Hi Dogboy 49,

Thanks for your response.. How do i update the allocation quantity to satisfy the order requirements in the planning book?

Thanks & Regards,

Sandeep,

Depends on how your Product Allocation is set up.  The most common method is to update the PA Planning area using a Planning book, and then to copy the updated qtys to the Product Allocation Group.

In any case, I suggest you refer to SAP help in this matter, where the entire process is described in detail.  Start at the top of the left hand pane, and work your way down topic by topic.

Product Allocations Settings - Product Allocation - SAP Library

Here is the detail about copying to the PAG.

Hi Sandeep,

You would have done most of Product Allocation configurations - You may cross check and also get the steps on how to update the quantities in planning book from below document -

Hope it helps.

Hi Expert

I am new to APO so not sure how this scenario would be. Can you help

Scenario: Businesses requirement is like to add new warehouse in APO and planning at warehouse level.Earlier we are doing only at production plant level but now want to at warehouse level.(6 warehouse)

Re: Planning at warehouse

Mannu,

Configuration would depend upon the current solution, and the detailed business requirements of the to-be solution.

In addition, APO has several planning engines, each of which would require different answers.

I suggest you consult with local experts to figure out exactly how the currently implemented solution works before you venture into creating additional functionalities (like planning at the warehouse level).  Or, if you wish to self-train, try reading the basics, found in sap online help:

Supply Network Planning - SAP Library

Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) - SAP Library

Capable-to-Match (CTM) - Multilevel Supply and Demand Matching (SDM) - SAP Library

In addition, within Supply Network Planning, there are two major planning methods; Heuristic and Optimizer:

Comparison of the Planning Methods - Supply Network Planning Run - SAP Library

If you are unfamiliar with APO, and you have never done such an implementation, you would probably want to use experienced local solution architects for this project.  If such SAs don't exist, the common method used is to hire a consulting company with expertise in these subject areas.

Best Regards,

Mannu,

Re-asking the same question using different words will not change the answer.

Configuration steps will depend on the business requirements, and on the solutions that have been chosen to satisfy these requirements.  Requirements and solutions will all be documented in the Business Blueprint for the project.  If you want to know the configuration steps, I suggest you study this document.

Best Regards & Good Luck,

DB49
