Re: How will IBP complement APO?

Hi Arvind

Initial stage IBP demand solution could along with SAP APO.

IBP demand could work together with SAP APO DP where you can transfer APO DP data to IBP demand solution for advance features like demand sensing or predictive analysis and get the respective out put back and show in APO DP planning book.

Other IBP solution are complete independent and you require to use them instead of APO.

As you might be knowing in mid-long term, APO solution would be get replaced by IBP solution.

Assembly Scrap is not getting considered in SNP planned order.

Dear Gurus,

In our scenario we want to consider assembly scrap for a Finished good. Thus in Product master assembly scrap is maintained. The necessary setting in global SNP customizing is also done. Now when we are running SNP heuristic on Finished good - Plant, planned order is getting created, but this planned order quantity is not taking assembly scrap into consideration. Is there any settings/customizing needed for this scenario.

Ashwani

Hai ashwani,

Just check is you maintain assemble scrap % in MM mrp1 tab ? after that go to  MM costing 1 tab, there under  costing lot size option. Under the option we should maintain the enough quantity of lot size .

Ex : If you are maintain 2% assemble scrap , then  you should maintain costing lot size option 50 pc  . Then the assemble scrap is working properly.

Hi Prudhvi,

Scrape % is maintained in MM mrp1 tab and same is cifed to APO, also did the changes mentioned by you in costing lot size. still same result planned order quantity is not considering assembly scrap %. Here one thing we found out that if we change Procurement type of finished good from "E" to "F" external procurement then planning run is creating purchase requisition. This purchase requisition qty. is considering assembly scrap %. But we want it to be considered in Planned order(In house production).

Hello All:

SAP released the following two OSS notes 808891 recently( APO->R/3: Material not maintained for storage location) and 808698(APO->R/3 Checking component storage locations). These 2 notes fixed the issue. Thank you all for your time and responses.

Hi Ashwani,

Assembly Scrap does not necessarily increase the Planned Order Qty to the produced. Try using lot sizes and you will be able to see the reduction in Planned Orders but the total sum of receipts will always be in conjunction (Lot Size, Rounding Value etc.) with the total demand. However, what Assembly Scrap does is increase the Dependent Demand of the components.

Hai ashwani,

Better to use procurement type 'x' to your FG. Assemble scrap  it increase volume of qty and hours .

Considering only stock with shelf life more than 6 months for planning

Considering only stock with shelf life more than 6 months for planning. Business is not willing to move the stock with less than 6 months to a different storage location.

Total stock available at a given product location in ECC = CC

Batch data to be picked up and stock quantities to be identified with remaining shelf life less than 6 months(ZS).

Objective: For SNP planning instead of total stock use(CC-ZS)

Can this be achieved in SNP Heuristic or deployment?

Issue in displaying the outlier alerts in DP planning book

Hi Experts,

I am experiencing an issue in displaying the outlier alerts in DP planning book. System is throwing ABAP run time error(TIME_OUT) after executing for one hour. I have checked alert table- /SAPAPO/AM_ALERT having some lakhs of entries in that. Assuming this could be reason, I have removed some of the entries through the reorg job, though our macro has the deletion step before generating the new alerts.

Earlier the alerts were getting displayed in few minutes only. But now I still getting the same ABAP dump after performing cleaning activity.

It would be great if someone let me know the reason for this.

Thanks in advance

Thanks,

Mansoor

BOM Integration model for E50 and with expired version

Hi all.

It seems not possible to create a PDS (from BOM) in case the material has only expired production versions (MM03) and has procurement E-50.

Our need is to keep the versions expired (for future "reactivation") and manage the spec. procurement field, rather than delete them. We are facing the problem that the CIF of BOM do not consider them (we added the BOM key to the method PDS_IMO_SELECTION of the BAdI for the return table CT_MBOM_KEY, as suggested into this note).

It seems that the system considers only the "absence" of any version in order to create the PDS from BOM, not the validity neither the Procurement and Spec.procurement.

We expected that the system considers the procurement first of all.

Is this the right behaviour? Does anyone faced this issue?

There is a workaround?

Thanks.

Hi

Can be please provide the ABAP dump message or screen shot from T-code ST22.

Plesae check if you still have many entries in Alert tables. Please use report /SAPAPO/AMODAL_DELETE to delete data based errors to assure everything gets cleaned.

First you check the alerts in alert monitor before you try to access via planning book.

Thanks

Hi Ujjal

I think this is the standard requirement in food or pharma industry.

It´s not possible in the SAP standard solution but you require to come up with work around.

In my earlier project, we use to calculate the stock i.e. ZS i.e. stock getting expired in six months and use to put this as additional demand in the SNP planning book. This would assure that respective stock is getting netted off with additional demand which you have created but for this you require to some easy and simple enhancements/programs.

Please let us know if this could be solution for your scenario.

Thanks

GR Receipt Time

Hi Friends,

GR receipt time is mentioned as 20 in product master. I changed it to 22 in planned order manually using MD12. But somehow the value reversed back to 20. I checked in table PLAF and found out the timestamp with change user as ALEREMOTE. I couldn't find any batch job running during the time mentioned in time stamp both in ECC as well as APO.

I want to find out what caused this change.

Thanks,

Atul

Hello,

I have checked the ABAP dump and error is time limit is exceeded as the program /SAPAPO/SAPLMCPSH_SEL is exceeding the max.runtime. The current setting of runtime system profile parameter "rdisp/max_wprun_time is 3600 seconds. ie.60 min.

/SAPAPO/AMODAL_DELETE this report is not available in our system as this is 5.0 version.

There are still alerts are exist in the table. I am deleting these alerts at system idle time.

Even I have tried from the alert monitor before trying directly from the planning book. But the same case here also. its keep on executing - Alerts are determined in asynchronous tasks....

Hello Experts,

One of the characteristic value displayed in RRP3 is displaying wrong text.We have not maintained any description for that characteristic value in CT04 but really do not know from where else it is getting this value.

Example : the "Promo Forcast" ext displayed for demand stream characteristic is not maintained in CT04.

char.PNG

Please guide me if you have any idea from where it could get this value.

Thanks,

Menka

Hi Virender,

Thank you for your reply.

These are requirements. We do not maintain any values in product master instead we determine by a our logic what value should come.

Thanks,

Menka

Hi Menka

Check whether any object dependency is created for that charcterstics.and cif once again your charcterstics to APO
