interval between setup and produce activity

Hello Experts:

We are using CTM (time continuous) to create PPDS planned orders. I am observing significant interval duration between the setup and produce activity for certain planned orders.

Also when I clicked on the order details I found the interval details as per the screenshot

Any pointers as to what is causing this issue ?

Jagdish,

Maximum Interval is generally defined in your PPM in the activity relationship section. /SAPAPO/SCC03

Sorry forgot to mention that we are using Production Data Structures(PDS).

Jagdish,

Should be similar in the PDS.  What did you see when you looked at your PDS under Activity relationships?

Hi Amol,

Thanks for prompt response!

Can you please suggest any other FM or tcode?

Gilles,

For more info about TQAs, you can search in SCN, where the topic has been discussed quite a bit.  You can also refer to http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/488725 ; or the online help files at Displaying Temporary Quantity Assignments - Tools - SAP Library

In every GATP system I have ever worked on, there is a regular job running which deletes 'old' (unnecessary) temporary quantity assignments.  However, it is important that you understand why they are not being deleted during standard processing before you begin deleting them.

Re: Overall Profile does not open with correct Heuristic Profile

Hi AK,

Unfortunately the correct profile is never being picked to begin with. The custom Heuristic Profile can be seen in /SAPAPO/CDPSC0 but it is never applied when the Detailed Scheduling Planning Board is opened with a specific Overall Profile. I don’t know what else might be preventing the profile from being applied since the same custom profile works for other Overall Profiles.

Jack

Hi Arnulfo,

Have you verified in the variant for the optimization run that all of these alternate resources were added to allow for the switching ? (/sapapo/cdpsb0)

Hi DB49,

thanks for the docs.

So it usually is batched (program /SAPAPO/OM_DELTA_REMOVE_OLDER I assume), BUT we have to understand first?? It seems batching is not the solution then? I though we'd batch it for TQAs older than say a week without  thinking about it. If this was the result of a CIF queue being deleted manually, CCR will always be there to report the delta, right?

Maybe a batch that could report old TQAs for CIF monitoring people who the would manually check and delete if necessary with /SAPAPO/AC06?

Dear Arnulfo,

The prioritization of production version is done by maintaining field 'Var. Costs: Single Level' in T.Code: PDS_MAINT

Gilles,

....BUT we have to understand first??...

You don't HAVE to.  I would think, though, that you would WANT to.

I thought we'd batch it for TQAs older than, say, a week without  thinking about it.

I have seen this done.  If you are not doing MATP or BOP with postprocessing, this is pretty safe.

If this was the result of a CIF queue being deleted manually, CCR will always be there to report the delta, right?

Actually, it is a poor business practice to delete queues without first knowing why the queue got stuck in the first place.  And, yes, CCR will report deltas and typically allow you to correct them.

Maybe a batch that could report old TQAs for CIF monitoring people who the would manually check and delete if necessary with /SAPAPO/AC06?

That would be a business decision.  I am not in a position to know what would be the best business decision for YOUR company.  I personally would never assign a human to such a task unless I had hope that the human would be discovering root causes and creating solutions to prevent future problems.

Re: DP Stat Forecasting issue

Hi,

Ada - we created separate dataview without any macros. The Corrected Sales History key figure does have values. It is the system calculated Corrected History key figure that has a bunch of zeros in it.

Emani - No, it is not ticked in the Forecasting Profile. That's the reason we were wondering why it would behave so.

Surprisingly, this happened for only one location. Also, we ran the job in background thrice. The first time it showed weird results as discussed here. The second time, it generated right results. The third time again it showed weird results.

Not sure yet what is going on.

Thanks for inputs from you guys.

Sales Order Date in DP Planning Book

Hi,

How can I bucket the sales order as per the requested delivery date or commit date in DP planning book.

Any suggestions/alternatives in this regard would be helpful.

Thanks

Vijay

Vijay,

I don't really understand your question.  In DP, you are generally not very interested in each sales order, you are interested in summary data.  If you really want reporting by individual Sales Orders, you should rethink whether DP is the best tool for the job.

In some implementations I have seen, there is a Key Figure for Quantity by Request date, and another Key figure for Quantity by Commit Date.  The periodicity of the Storage Bucket Profile determines how the data is aggregated in time ("bucketed").

Hi Vijay,

You can extract the sales data into infocube, where you fill 0CALYEAR, 0CALMONTH, or 0CALDAY according to the periodicity you want to load the data into DP (e.g., if you want to load sales data into DP in weekly period, you fill the infocube's 0CALWEEK characteristic according to requested delivery date or commit date).
Then you can use /sapapo/tscube to load the data into DP time series.

Planning order capacity after confirmation

Hi,

After doing REM confirmation in ERP system, the capacity is not reduced correctly in APO planning board. What is the setting that has to be done in order to reduce the capacity not on the right side, but on the left side so that the distance between the planning order does not grow

Thanks

Gomathi
