Workcenter efficiency and setup matrix

Dear all,

I'm have an interesting case, but in doubt how to cope with an issue.

The situation is as follows; we have multiple resources, with 1,2,3 machines under a resource running the same production (SKU).

Basicly it looks like this:

Resource A - Workcenter A (75% machine efficiency)

- machine 1

- machine 2

- machine 3

Shift utilizations set at 300% (hrs on resource trippled)

Resource B - Workcenter B (77% machine efficiency)

- machine 1

- machine 2

Shift utilizations set at 200% (hrs on resource doubled)

Resource C - Workcenter C (80% machine efficiency)

- machine 1

- machine 2

Shift utilizations set at 100% (hrs on resource are the same as the shiftcalender)

Imagine, we can interchange an SKU from resource A to B or C.

The number of machines determine whether the order leadtime is longer or shorter due to the utilization of the shift.

Routing speeds are configured based on an SKU being produced on one machine.

Now I'd like to take a look into the introduction of the Setup Matrix.

However, planning a setup time on resource A, will devide the setuptime by 3 because the shift utilization is 300%.

In real life, the changeover will take 3 times as long compared to resource C because there are three machines to change.

This is the oposite of the goal I try to achieve.

Is there any one with experiance in a similar situation? What could be a solution to include setuptimes properly?
